Chasing Sunsets and Sea Turtles on the Big Island of Hawaii

There is something about Hawaii sunsets that feels different from anywhere else. Maybe it is the way the sky turns every shade of gold, pink, and deep orange all at once. Maybe it is the sound of the waves crashing while the sun slowly disappears into the Pacific. Or maybe it is simply the feeling of slowing down and taking it all in.

During our time on the Big Island, sunset quickly became our favorite part of the day. Every evening felt completely different. Some nights the sky glowed softly with pastel colors, while others exploded with dramatic light that looked almost unreal through my camera lens. No matter where we stopped along the coast, the beauty never disappointed.

One of the most unforgettable moments from our trip was seeing sea turtles resting along the shoreline as the sun went down. Watching these incredible creatures peacefully move through the water while the sky lit up behind them felt like something out of a dream. As a photographer, moments like that remind me why I love what I do. It is not always about perfect poses or carefully planned sessions. Sometimes it is simply about capturing a feeling you never want to forget.

The Big Island has a way of making you slow down and appreciate the little things. Warm air, crashing waves, lava rock beaches, and sunsets that somehow look even more beautiful in person than they do in photos. It reminded me that some of the best memories happen when you least expect them.

Of course, I could not leave Hawaii without taking thousands of photos. From dramatic coastlines to glowing sunsets and the sea turtles we spotted along the beaches, this trip filled my camera and my heart in the best way possible.
