The changing colors of fall create the most beautiful backdrop for family sessions, and this session was nothing short of magical. I recently had the honor of capturing this lovely family as they prepare to welcome a new little one. Each photograph tells a story of connection, excitement, and love—and I’m thrilled to share some highlights with you!

We started the session in a wooded area with stunning natural light filtering through the trees. Mom, absolutely radiant, wore a flowing olive-green gown that not only matched the earthy tones around us but also added an elegant and timeless feel to the photos. The way her dress trailed along the ground brought a sense of grace, framing her glowing smile and the undeniable joy of her growing family.

Their little boy was so much fun, adding playful energy to the session. In the first set of photos, he sat on Dad’s shoulders, grinning from ear to ear with that sweet innocence only a toddler can capture. His eyes sparkled as he looked down at his parents, radiating happiness. The connection between him and his dad was so touching—a mix of strength, playfulness, and a quiet, loving bond. These are the kinds of moments that make family photos timeless.

We then moved to capture some mother-son moments. Holding hands with Mom, he looked up at her with a mixture of admiration and excitement. She held him close, gently resting her other hand on her baby bump—a beautiful symbol of her love for both her children. The warmth and love in her eyes were palpable, and the setting only added to the feeling that these are memories they’ll cherish forever.

As the golden light deepened, Mom changed into a stunning light blue dress adorned with floral appliqués on the sleeves. This outfit brought a vibrant contrast to the warm reds and golds of the fall foliage, creating a breathtaking effect. Dad and their little one matched the cooler tones perfectly, giving this part of the session a more polished and sophisticated feel.

The final photos of the day were of the family nestled closely together, with the leaves glowing in the background. The little one was held by both parents, their smiles full of love and anticipation for the new addition. The way they looked at each other, with excitement and calm, truly reflected their shared journey and partnership.

One of my favorite shots from the session is Mom standing alone, cradling her belly with a serene smile, as the golden light surrounded her. There’s something so moving about capturing a mother as she awaits a new life, holding both the joy of the present and the dreams for the future.
